Chestertons - Temporary Closure

As many will have noticed, Chestertons has closed temporarily for refurbishment.

Here is an extract from the announcement posted on their door on Monday: “Dear all, it is through much courage and tenacity that we come to mark the end of an era by closing for a refit and a change in retail direction. Chestertons will be shut from Monday 5th July - 1st week of August to complete these works. We apologise for the inconvenience this will no doubt cause but we hope you will appreciate the new format when we re-launch.”

A further news item will be posted to report on the campaign that has been launched in the village to oppose Chesterton’s application for ‘A3’ restaurant status and ‘ON’ license to enable the sale and consumption of alcohol on the premises.
