| I was taken on a tour of Ditchling showing the garden grabbing which the new government intends to ban. I cant believe that a village which seems to have such a strong voice, has allowed such infilling to happen. It's not surprising that birds, bees and butterflies are scarce. |

| Whilst I agree completely it is clear that Paul does not know that a number of us in the village have fought long and hard to protect it against greedy developers but have been thwarted by the Planning Inspectorate. The phrase "local democracy" just makes me laugh, everything up to now has been stacked in favour of the developer who can just keep on submitting new applications and appealing against local decisions. The residents have no right of appeal - so much for democracy. It also has to be said that much of the infilling is the responsibility of residents themselves. Let us hope that the guidelines from the new government to the Planning Inspectorate will put a stop to these people and eyesores like the development currently being imposed on us in South Street. |
