I worked on the church, building the underground Vestry, drank in pub opposite with the "Parker Bowles", I believed they were called, owned paper mills for printing paper money, and played rugby there! What a great side we had then, anyone remember? around 1971/2

You refer to drinking in the White Horse with the "Parker Bowles". I have no idea whether it was the same family, but maybe it is not a coincidence that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as she now is, grew up close to Ditchling and went to a private school in the village. She is a patron of our village museum and recently visited it. Tom Dufty

Yep - she used to livein Plumpton Lane in Plumpton.
