Two actors have their marriage  tested when she is violently assaulted in their new home. The play they have been rehearsing is Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman. Willy Loman’s impotence and frustration permeate the film like cheap aftershave. They moved house because their previous apartment building was collapsing. The cracks in their home life are literal as well as figurative.
The film won the Oscar for the best film in a foreign language.
