Ditchling Talent Show - urgent update
16 October 2026, Friday, 6pm
Ditchling Village Hall, Lewes Road, Ditchling
Announcement- Talent Show change of format.
Sadly all those talented people in Ditchling have been slow to sign up and this has meant that we have had to change the format of our planned Talent Show on Friday 16th October at 7.00pm. To clarify, we haven’t had enough entrants to make it truly competitive, but we still want to let those who have entered shine.
Therefore it will now become a Talent Showcase. Those who have entered will now be offered a longer slot to really show off their talents and the entire prize fund will be split between any performances who formally enter.
A reminder, it’s not too late to enter - via the link lower down this page.
We would be delighted to have a few more performers in the line up, so do consider entering. There’s no doubt that it will be a very friendly and supportive audience.
Tickets to watch the showcase are free through Eventbrite via the link below, or by clicking on this link:
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ditchling-talent-show-tickets-2001091910773
Note that the previous limit of two tickets per application has been removed.
It will still be a fun evening to watch those who have entered and we will have some special guests performing as well. Do come along and support our performers.
Ditchling Film Society volunteers are running the bar. Money raised from the Talent Show will go to upgrading the audio-visual equipment at Ditchling Village Hall - including new speakers, microphones and projection equipment.
Talent shows have been big on our small screens for years now, but they have a long, rich and varied history. Many stars past and present found future fame by entering a talent show.
So just for fun, Ditchling Village Association is harking back to the origins and is holding their first Talent Show on stage on Friday 16th October in Ditchling Village Hall at 7.00pm.
Entry for contestants will be £5, but it will be free (ticketed - see below) for the Audience, so please come along. You may see a star in the making.
There are three categories, which will be Juniors (7-11 age group), youth (under 18s) and Adult. There will be five slots in each category on a first come first serve basis, so sign up as soon as you can. Entry forms are available online here. See posters locally for information or contact DVA@glottalstop.co.uk.
Acts can be solo, duo or group. All we ask is that at least one member from each act either lives or works in Ditchling (and does not currently earn a living from their performance).
We welcome musicians, comedians, singers, bands, dancers, magicians, jugglers, orators, poets… literally anything you like as long your act will fit on the Village Hall stage and does not involve animals, fire or liquids! There will be technical sound support to make you sound your best.
Free audience tickets can be booked here. Note that tickets are limited to 100.
Any funds raised on the evening will go to the Village Hall.
We look forward to seeing you then.
Lucie Broadbent Smith
